We just returned from an amazing week on a cruise with Todd's dad, stepmom, sisters, and lots more friends and family. Todd's dad is retiring from the Farmer's Branch Fire Department at the end of this year, and they organized this trip as a celebration!! Todd's dad and Renee gave us the seriously amazing/ overwhelming gift of the entire cruise for our family. It is impossible to even say thank you enough times for the amazing time that we had. Rick and Renee (Pops and NaeNae), we couldn't love you more or possibly be more grateful for your generosity and love for us!!!
We have so many fun pictures from our trip!!! Laney was adorable all week long. She was one of very few babies on the ship and she literally stopped people in their tracks every where we went. People could not stop coming up to us and telling us how beautiful and sweet she was. I guess because Todd and I were together, it was obvious that she was adopted, so we were asked lots of questions about her story. More than once, strangers would approach me to tell me what a great daddy they had observed Todd being. Talk about making my heart swell!!!!
Here we are in our room on our very first day! Laney slept in our bed with us all week. It was very reminiscent of our time together in Taiwan! We loved it!!!
Laney was an instant fan of the whole lounging experience. She didn't so much want to "lay out" as she wanted to make the whole ship her own personal jungle gym.
I know what you are thinking! Of course people couldn't stop staring....just look at our cutie pie!!!
Laney has been LOVING walking around with us. Her favorite thing to do is hold our hands and walk everywhere. She actually walked all by herself, taking about three steps while we were in Hondurus. Aunt Jen and Aunt Hailey were there to witness it, but she has made no efforts at repeating the feat!
Here we are on the first formal dinner night. Laney was great during our dinner time. She learned the sign language for drink right before our trip, and she took full advantage of it. She "asked" for everyone's drinks with great determination every night!
Laney stayed on the ship with Nae Nae the day that we stopped in Cozumel, so Todd and I got to go dune-buggying with the group through the jungle. We stopped to snorkle, have lunch on the beach and play some sand volleyball. It was so fun. Thanks again NaeNae!
Our ship, Royal Carribean's The Rhapsody of the Seas!
Our little senorita!
The ship had a playtime put on by Fisher Price every morning for babies. They had tons of fun toys! We were the only ones there most days, but a couple of times Laney got to play with another little boy.
We went to a gorgeous beach in Costa Maya Mexico. One section of the beach had these fun toys for Laney so we hung out there for the day!
Laney took her nap on the beach in Costa Maya. She slept through LOTS of noisy college kids, volleyball games, and didn't wake up until the mariachi player belted out his SECOND song about three feet from her face :)
We are starting to think that Laney doesn't like Mariachi music. What do you think?
We spent our last day in Progresso, Mexico. We went on an interesting city tour and then to a fun restaurant overlooking the beach.
Did I mention that Laney wasn't allowed in the pool on the ship??!?!? Can you believe that. No babies in swimmer diapers allowed. So we improvised and turned Laney's bathtub into a raft. She would have far preferred to be in the water, but we made do.
Looking out at the view one last time with Nae Nae on our last night!
