Back From Paradise!

We just returned from an amazing week on a cruise with Todd's dad, stepmom, sisters, and lots more friends and family. Todd's dad is retiring from the Farmer's Branch Fire Department at the end of this year, and they organized this trip as a celebration!! Todd's dad and Renee gave us the seriously amazing/ overwhelming gift of the entire cruise for our family. It is impossible to even say thank you enough times for the amazing time that we had. Rick and Renee (Pops and NaeNae), we couldn't love you more or possibly be more grateful for your generosity and love for us!!!

We have so many fun pictures from our trip!!! Laney was adorable all week long. She was one of very few babies on the ship and she literally stopped people in their tracks every where we went. People could not stop coming up to us and telling us how beautiful and sweet she was. I guess because Todd and I were together, it was obvious that she was adopted, so we were asked lots of questions about her story. More than once, strangers would approach me to tell me what a great daddy they had observed Todd being. Talk about making my heart swell!!!!

Here we are in our room on our very first day! Laney slept in our bed with us all week. It was very reminiscent of our time together in Taiwan! We loved it!!!

Laney was an instant fan of the whole lounging experience. She didn't so much want to "lay out" as she wanted to make the whole ship her own personal jungle gym.

I know what you are thinking! Of course people couldn't stop staring....just look at our cutie pie!!!

Laney has been LOVING walking around with us. Her favorite thing to do is hold our hands and walk everywhere. She actually walked all by herself, taking about three steps while we were in Hondurus. Aunt Jen and Aunt Hailey were there to witness it, but she has made no efforts at repeating the feat!

Here we are on the first formal dinner night. Laney was great during our dinner time. She learned the sign language for drink right before our trip, and she took full advantage of it. She "asked" for everyone's drinks with great determination every night!

Laney stayed on the ship with Nae Nae the day that we stopped in Cozumel, so Todd and I got to go dune-buggying with the group through the jungle. We stopped to snorkle, have lunch on the beach and play some sand volleyball. It was so fun. Thanks again NaeNae!

Our ship, Royal Carribean's The Rhapsody of the Seas!

Our little senorita!

The ship had a playtime put on by Fisher Price every morning for babies. They had tons of fun toys! We were the only ones there most days, but a couple of times Laney got to play with another little boy.

We went to a gorgeous beach in Costa Maya Mexico. One section of the beach had these fun toys for Laney so we hung out there for the day!

Laney took her nap on the beach in Costa Maya. She slept through LOTS of noisy college kids, volleyball games, and didn't wake up until the mariachi player belted out his SECOND song about three feet from her face :)

We are starting to think that Laney doesn't like Mariachi music. What do you think?

We spent our last day in Progresso, Mexico. We went on an interesting city tour and then to a fun restaurant overlooking the beach.

Did I mention that Laney wasn't allowed in the pool on the ship??!?!? Can you believe that. No babies in swimmer diapers allowed. So we improvised and turned Laney's bathtub into a raft. She would have far preferred to be in the water, but we made do.

Looking out at the view one last time with Nae Nae on our last night!

Our Other Journal

We have had an online journal for the past year, and it was fabulous...seriously fabulous. I have tried to communicate to people what it was like to be in Taiwan and being overwhelmed every time I checked my email because there were so many incredible supportive messages waiting for me. I started this blog because our journal was going to expire, but a few days ago, I got a message that someone had anonymously renewed our journal for us. How blessed can we possibly be!?!?!

Now the only question is do I maintain both blogs???? I am still trying to decide, so for now....just check them both :)

Princess of the Pool!!!!

Laney is such a daredevil. She really has no fear. It makes me nervous sometimes cause she loves to climb. This afternoon she kept trying to climb up the little slide in her pool, which proved very difficult with wet feet and a slick slide. She kept trying over and over though. What a cute little determined princess!!!

The passy payload!!! Laney throws her passies behind her crib during naps, so every few days we have to dig em all out.

Laney LOVES playing with Zilla and his toys. He is a pretty good sport about it, but I don't think that it is his favorite part of the day!

Laney and Ella's DAY OF FUN!!!! Let's do it again next Friday, and the Friday after that and the Friday after that.......

Ella, Joshua and Laney floating together at Peter and Melissa's pool!!! They were so cute and of course had lots of fun together!

Laney and Joshua got to play upstairs. Joshua is always sweet enough to let Laney push him around on whatever toy she can find!!

Laney was swinging the bat like a pro. What a little athlete!!

I am going to try and post my pictures the way that my sister does on her blog. I like the way that her comments are matched up with her pictures and since I don't have any fabulous/funny stories to tell, I am really only interested in commenting on cute pics :)
So here goes.
We had a fun play date/Memorial Day celebration with the Hartsfields, Murrells, Goodyears and Hills. The babies started off playing on the back porch getting as dirty as possible.

Despite the cold and the rain, Laney and Tyce did not want to stop splashing together in the pool!!!

Laney was giving Ella kisses in the tub!

Here she is all decked out for our trip to the water park right by our house. We walked there and met my sister's playgroup and Janelle and Ella Bella! It was SO FUN!

This must have been when Ella arrived!!! They had so much fun playing together.

After the pool, Ella came over to play and we changed them into matching dresses!! They are the same size so you can see what a tiny little bit Miss Ella is! I love this picture of them smiling so big at each other!

Sunday morning in the video suite with Aunt Jill and Uncle Jared!!! (we LOVE the dress, thanks Amanda and Jackson!!)

We went out on my mom and Kevin's boat on Sunday for the very first time. It was SO much fun. Laney felt a little smushed in her life jacket, but she started to enjoy the ride once she got used to it!

Grant and Claire were so much fun on the boat. Grant went tubing with Todd and then again with Jessica. His best comment of the day was, "Will some people get to have another turn?" We all wondered which people he was referencing!!

On Monday, we went to the Ft. Worth Zoo!! Thanks to my sister and the Kaylor/Grabowski girls, Laney has a zoo pass until almost 2009!!!! Yay for the zoo!!
Here is a picture of Laney and Claire watching the elephant give himself a bath. The picture of us together is in front of our favorite area, the Asian Animals....notice the bamboo behind us :)
All the kids climbed on the Komodo dragon for a ride. Claire, as always, was taking care of LaneyBug.

Random Pictures!

We have been doing lots of fun things lately - yay for summer!! I have so many cute pictures to post from Memorial Day fun to the water park today! But these pictures were too cute for me to skip over, so I am posting them and I will get to the latest fun pics soon!!

These are pictures of Laney playing outside in dry weather and then after lots of rain. She was literally drinking water out of a puddle in our backyard - sick!!! She seriously loves to play in the water unless it involves getting her hair washed! Todd thinks that she is going to break the dishwasher if I keep letting her stand on it like that, but I can't help it, she is so cute.
She was loving spinning around in daddy's chair with him in the video suite last Sunday.
