B is for Boy!!!!

We had an ultrasound yesterday at my 12 week appointment!! The babies are perfect. They are measuring bigger than our 12 weeks--yay!!! I am seriously awed every time we get to see them on the sonogram machine. They are growing so much and so fast, it is incredible. At 9 weeks, we saw the babies and they looked like little gummy bears with big bellies and heads and little nub arms and legs. Yesterday, they were so much more stretched out with long arms and legs that were waving around everywhere. They look so much like little babies, waving their arms around and touching their little faces with their sweet hands. This is just so miraculous!!!
Soooooo......
We were watching our precious little babies and Todd pointed to the screen, and said, "I think that I just saw some man parts." The technician looked at him skeptically and said it was too early for that. But then she moved the wand a little and there was no denying it. Twin B was giving us a full view. We have a little boy!!!!!!! We are so excited!!! We still don't know anything about shy Baby A. Just like every other sonogram, Baby A wasn't moving quite as much as Baby B, so we didn't get a clear view of anything. We will just have to wait!!!
Here are the goods!
Baby B with his arms over his tummy and his little legs kicking! Baby A with little hands moving all around his or her face.

So there they are! Our healthy little twinnies. Can't wait to see them again!!!!!

12 Week Belly Bump!!!

I have had a belly for quite I while now, so I decided it was time to start documenting it, so here it is....The 12 week tummy. We hit the 12 week mark yesterday - YAY!!!!!
These pictures are also at the beginning of the day, and by the end of the day there is a significant increase in poochiness. Hopefully that's normal. I figured if I take my pics in the morning than I will be better able to judge the actual growth from week to week rather than how much chips and salsa I ate that day (probably lots)

Memorial Day!

We went over to the Hartsfield's house on Memorial Day with the Murrells. Heath cooked out for us, which alone made it one of the best days ever. Janelle set up their blow up pools and my sister let us borrow their fabulous blow up slide. It was such a fun day.
Laney loved the slide as Todd was setting it up. It wasn't wet yet, so she got great traction and could climb up the whole thing backwards and then slide down. Ella was loving the dry slide too. Hot on Laney's tail.Once the water came on, Laney was all done. She wasn't the least bit interested in climbing up that slide just so she could get rewarded with a spray in the face.

Ella braved the spray and slid down all by herself several times before she joined Laney's team in opposition to face spraying.

Josh was in LOVE with this slide. He literally did not stop climbing up and sliding down for the entire two hours that it was set up. He embraced the face spray, and later when we kept turning it off for Laney and Ella, he would shout "water" until it would come back on and blast him in the eyes........paradise!
Laney resorted to being a cheerleader for most of the sliding action. She clapped like crazy for both of her friends as they came down the slide.
Once Ella swore off face spray, the girls played together in the pool. Ella was talking up a storm to Laney. She is so cute!!!! Laney really has gotten so many new words lately, but there is no keeping up with Miss Ella. Laney just smiles and nods.
After lunch, we turned the water off on the slide. As soon as Laney saw that, she headed around the back, climbed up and slid down.

So fun without all that water in her eyes!

Summer is Here!

Tessa came over on Saturday while Jess took Grant to a birthday party. It was the perfect day to set up our pool for the very first time this year, which definitely means that summer has arrived!!! The girls had so much fun together.
I know that there will come a day when I, as a protective mommy, will want Laney to wear very modest and conservative one piece bathing suits, but for now.....I love all her adorable little bikinis.
Tessa loved bouncing on the dolphin! Laney hopped on the dolphin so that they could both bounce together!
This was one of the only times that Laney went down the slide on her bottom. She saw Tess go down on her tummy backward and then that was the only way that she wanted to go, which was especially hilarious because her feet were already touching the pool when she started since her body is the length of the slide.
I moved the hose over to the fish sprinkler, which Tessa loved. Laney was a bit more hesitant though. I love this picture of Tess beckoning Laney over to come and play with her. Soon Tessa won Laney over, and Laney got to see for herself what all the sprinkler fun was about! I brought fudgsicles out for the girls, and this is seriously how Laney ate the first half of hers. I was cracking up. I think that she is hysterical, and also so grown up looking with this funny pose! Side by side cute little cousins. Jessica said that they are a study in opposites which may be true on the outside, but they really are both sweet as can be on the inside!!!

When Grant and Jess came over to pick up Tessa, Grant couldn't resist the sprinkler fun. He was getting a drink from the sprinkler and his baby sister quickly followed suit!

Our Friends are Here!!!!

On Thursday night, we got to go out with Lamar and Jill, Topher and Leya and their families. They were all in town for LynnAnn's bridesmaid's luncheon and shower. It was so great to see them and for all our babies to get to play!
Jared and Jill were there for the celebration and Jared, being the super fun honorary uncle that he is, entertained Tyler and Laney for a quite a while with nothing but a high chair and his silliness.

It is a good thing that the booths around us were empty. Laney had a blast running around this table and bouncing around the bench. I hope that doesn't make her sound like an obnoxious kid at a restaurant. She was being so sweet and cute. If she started to get out of control, Daddy definitely would have intervened. He is great about knowing limits.
Laney and Tyler checking out what is on the menu!

They brought out this amazing dessert for Lamar with spoons for everyone. Lamar had a few bites and then Laney took over! Actually we all shared it, but I am sure that Laney could have downed the whole thing! I know I could have.

Nocona Fun Days!!!

We went down to Nocona last weekend to celebrate Mother's Day and Aunt Jen's birthday, which happened to be on the same day this year. We got there on Friday afternoon and Laney got so excited right away. Before we were even out of the truck, she was already saying "Pop...moo" She loves for Pops to take her to see the cows!

Lucky little Laney still had some birthday presents to open. They sent most of her gifts to us and she has been love love loving them since her birthday, but she got to open even more once Nae Nae got home from work!!!

She got a giant coloring book and some chunky crayons, which Aunt Jen immediately started putting to use with her. I think this picture of them is so sweet!

Can you tell how much Laney loves her Aunt Jen!!!
We gave Renee a monogrammed apron for Mother's Day. She is usually creating something fabulous for us in the kitchen while we are there, so it will go to good use!!!! Nocona had a carnival on Main Street on Saturday morning. It was called Nocona Fun Days. There was pony riding, a tractor choo choo, face painting and tons of food. Laney didn't sleep well the night before and woke up really early. I say that in the hopes that it explains why she was such a grumpy head during most of the carnival. She was never ever fussy, she just didn't want to do much of anything. She was content to be held with her head on my shoulder and not really engaging in anything. The night before, we visited a family that has recently adopted an adorable little boy from China. Laney LOVED him. She was chasing him around the room and grabbing his face with both hands to kiss him. It was so cute. When we saw sweet John Blake the next day at Fun Days, Laney would barely look at him. She just got so shy. Poor guy, getting such mixed signals.

We did see some puppies which was the highlight of Laney's experience. She kept saying "Bark Bark" which is what she calls dogs. Jenna thought that she was saying bawk bawk, and kept looking around for chickens.

Laney did not like getting her face painted at this carnival. It looks kind of like I am strangling her in this picture. I wasn't!

Once we got back to Pops and Nae Nae's and Laney had a nap, she was a much happier girl. She really loves playing at their house. The whole time we are there, she is always asking for Pops. She literally says his name like a hundred times. Then, as soon as he walks in the door, she gets all shy and nervous. She knows that she loves him like crazy, but she won't just run into his arms. Silly!!!

Saturday night, Todd and I drove home and Laney stayed for some more fun days in Nocona. Rick, Renee, and Jenna have been missing her so much that they just didn't think that 24 hours was long enough. I love that they treasure her so much and are willing to adjust their whole schedules to get to have her stay with them. She couldn't be more blessed by our families. Of course she had an amazing time with them. It is so wonderful to be able to completely trust that she is being so well taken care of!!!

Strawberry Picking!

Last week, we had our weekly Bobbis/Cousins playdate at a strawberry picking farm in the middle of Arlington. We drive by it almost every day and have never gotten to stop, so I was so excited to get Laney out there for some strawberry picking fun! It ended up being much more eventful than I expected. It poured the night before and that left us with some pretty muddy strawberry fields.Laney and Tessa moved at close to the same speed. They had no discretion when it came to picking. Any strawberry was acceptable....mushy, nibbled on by bugs, totally white and unripe ....they didn't care! There was a serious "no sampling" rule, so I got to go through Laney's selections with a stricter eye. Laney loved her basket since it felt just like a little purse!

And, here is where it started to get recally fun. We got to the end of the first row of berries and I guess the drainage wasn't as great down there. It was so muddy that Laney's crocs got stuck in the mud as she kept walking. Then she tumbled completely to the ground and was just covered. She was fine and not even upset, so typically I would have been fine too and probably would have laughed just like my mom and sister were. Maybe I should blame the pregnancy hormones, because I was so irritated. I was ready to march up to the guy at the front and suggest that he drop about ten minutes off of his intro "do not sample the strawberries and here are the fifty reasons why not" speech and give all his visitors a clue that half of his fields were covered in quicksandy mud!!!!!Of course Laney was completely fine and just went on picking (barefoot and filthy) So, I got over my irritation and followed behind her making absolutely sure that there was no sampling of any kind!Hosing down the muddy girls. Laney was definitely the muddiest, but Bobbis looks to be a close second.

Here she is....one shoe missing somewhere in the bog, filthy clothes, mud on her face. Sheesh, good thing we love strawberries!

Don't you think that the farm should use this pic in some of their promotional mailers??
