Botanic Gardens

We went to the Botanic Gardens on Monday to meet our friends Jenn and Kamryn to play!!! We have been their several times before, but Laney definitley had the most fun there this time. Maybe it was because she had a playmate just her age to run run run with, or maybe she is just at an age to enjoy lots exploring, running, and climbing. For whatever reason, it was such a fun morning with our friends!
I love getting together with Kamryn. She is so so sweet and she and Laney seem to have so much fun together. We were a little concerned that they were going to jump right in at this point, but they saved that for later!
The girls climbed up on this rock to get a better view of all the turtles!
Laney is really interested in squirrels lately. We have been taking afternoon walks, with her baby stroller, looking for squirrels in our neighborhood. Well, I wasn't surprised to find out that Kamryn also loves squirrels, because they seem to be so so similar about so many things. They were racing across the grass to see a squirrel up close!
Laney was trying to get Kamryn, or Kamra as she kept calling her, to hide with her behind this tree, but Kamryn was already off on another adventure.
They stopped to splash their toes in this little stream for a little while. Then it was their hands, and we had to get them outta there before they were tummy down wallowing in the yucky water.

Laney found another rock to climb and was loving it. She did almost crash hard off of this one, making me really nervous. Jenn was there to catch her as I am not moving at top speed these days.

Diapers Diapers Diapers!!!!!

Last week we were given a "Double Diaper Pounding" Shower by lots of the sweet ladies at church. Our church is obviously such a blessing in our lives. Todd and I met at our church in the seventh grade. We both accepted Christ and were baptized at our church. We served together as youth interns through college. We were married there. We petitioned for and received the overwhelmeing support that helped us bring our daughter home from Taiwan. And now Todd is on staff there. It is home to us and we are so loved there. We definitely could not ask for more!!
The women that work in Todd's department and the women that work in Grandmommy Lezlie's office hosted this fun cowboy themed shower. Each of them have been such a source of excitement and encouragement from the moment we told them about our baby boys!

Laney helped me open lots of our presents. We opened tons of diapers and wipes!!!! I tallied them up and we are now the proud owners of 1,844 diapers in sizes Newborn through 3's. I can barely believe how tiny those little Newborns are. They seriously look like they are for Laney's dolls. I have never worked with anything smaller than a 3, which is what Laney came home wearing. Those itty bitty little diapers are such a tangible reminder that our teeny tiny twinsies are coming and they are coming soon!!!
Jess and I tried to do the math and figure out how long 1,800 diapers will last us, and we came up with a tentative 3 1/2 months. Holy Moly!!!! That's a lot of diapers and not a lot of months!!!!
Our sweet friend, Miss Denise, made sure that Laney had her very own present to open and her brand new coloring book and crayons went to immediate use!
We got not one but TWO cutie pie custom made western quilts!!! I love this picture of Laney letting us all know that she is glad there is going to be a little girly pink represented in her brothers' room!!!
Towards the end of the party, Laney decided that the cooler full of ice was another gift for her to open and play with!!
Hundreds of diapers for my brothers and a cup of ice for me....Awesome!!!! All this showering is a testimony of how much Todd's co-workers love him and want to bless him. I know that he is so deservedly loved by the people that he works alongside of!
This was the second cart full of goodies that Todd, Jared, and Shane rolled out and loaded into our truck!!! Amazing!! I had to use Laney's wagon to unload it all, making lots of trips, and it is all still in the middle of our living room floor.
We gotta clear out the boys' closet!

Official Lewis Family Reunion!

We got together on Saturday for the actual renion and had so much fun! I don't have any pictures of ALL the extended family of the Lewis clan, but here is our sweet branch.
Laney and all of her accessories! She had her puppy purse and this new bumble bee purse that she hi-jacked from Aunt Jen and of course her sunglasses. She makes quite a statement with all this silliness. Renee had this little "Lewis Family Reunion" shirt made for her and it was so cute!!! Todd was concerned that I put it with a pink skirt, pink ribbons, pink flip flops, and pink sunglasses. He said that she looked like a Mary Kay consultant!!
We met in the Family Life Center at Pops and Nae Nae's church, so there is always lots of room to run and play and balls to throw around. I realized after I took this one that we had a very similar picture from last year's reunion!
Isn't that funny. I didn't stage the second picture, but now I will have to make it a tradition :)
Laney loved playing football (although she continues to call it soccer) with Todd. She was saying, "Ready Set GO!" and they threw it back and forth again and again!
A little video of their game! Laney is counting at this point. You can hear her say "One, Two....Four!!!" She has some kind of intense aversion to the numbers 3 and 6. She will count to twelve, but she skips those two numbers almost every time.

Of course we brought Laney's stroller to the celebration and she loved getting a ride across the gym in it!!
One of Todd's second cousins (I think that is the right connection) just had twin baby girls 5 weeks ago. It was so great to get to talk to her and get some words of wisdom. Seeing those little girls side by side was quite the reality check. Nae Nae got to snuggle up with little Avery while Laney and her cookie checked them out!

Family Reunion!

We spent this weekend in Nocona for the Lewis family reunion this weekend. This is a yearly tradition that I have joined Todd with since we were dating, so I am pretty sure that this was like my twelfth reunion! It was Laney's second year as a Lewis at the reunion and she had so so much fun!!!!
The actual reunion was Saturday, but lots of the family was in town on Friday night and we had an amazing dinner prepared by Pops at this super cute venue in Nocona. Laney had so much fun playing there! We ate at "Daddy Sam's" and Laney found so many fun things to entertain her. She especially loved standing on this huge scale and swinging the weights around. I am not sure what the scale was supposed to be measuring, but it must have been something huge, because Laney's weight didn't even register. Laney was completely entralled with the cacti. She walked up and down the stairs pointing at them saying, "sharp!" with a very concerned look on her face.

Laney sat down by Aunt Jenna and I told her that she should put her arm around Aunt Jen, which she did like such a big girl.
Laney and her Great Aunt Deannie played a game of, "I'm gonna get you!"
Laney is such a lucky girl to be so loved by so many sweet family members!
Laney was running around this full length mirror and laughing so hard at herself.

There was some kind of animal skin draped on one of the couches. Laney was "petting" it with Nae Nae and dubbed it the "itchy scratchy cat," so I guess we aren't going to have to hide in the tent or under blankets from the "ca ca ca" anymore!

29 Weeks!

Here we are! Two butternut squash in that tummy!! The boys are doing great. I am feeling them move around like crazy, which I love!! And hopefully all that wiggling will get them positioned head down in no time! Here are some pictures of the boys' room. Like I said, I am so relieved that it is ready for them. We blew up some of the animals from their bedding to paint on the walls. It was a complete beast trying to get the outlines taped up there and ready for paint, but I was glad to have something to contribute, since Todd has done every smidge of the painting.

This is all of Laney's old furniture. I am so excited that we are getting to reuse it without much effort. It was very labor intensive the first go round, because we got everything used and at garage sales (except our fabulous crib - thanks Grandmommy!) But this time, we just changed a few fabric coverings and were ready to roll!!! The boys will sleep together in this crib at first. In a couple of months Tessa will be letting us borrow her crib and we will add it to the boys' room. We still have to hang this shelf that is resting on the bookshelf. And I need to swipe some of Laney's board books from her new shelves I guess. She is definitely in for a lesson in sharing :)
I got Laney this Dr Suess "Thing 1 and Thing 2" shirt the other day because it reminded me so much of my friend Sydney's preparation for her cutie pie twins. I told Laney that she had two boys on her shirt just like her two brothers. Here is a cute video of her naming Thing 1 and Thing 2!!!

Bike Trails at the Park

We went to the park yesterday with our friends. This park has a bike trail, and when I told Laney that we were going and asked if she wanted to bring her wagon, she said that she wanted her stroller. As previously mentioned, Laney really really loves pushing her stroller. She pushed it all around the trail, loving every minute of it!

Then we had time to play at the park. Sliding with Claire!

And hanging with Tessa!

The wagon saw lots of action at the park, but pulling it back to the car was the first time Laney paid any attention to it.

"Shut the Door!"

We spent this weekend finishing the boys' room - YAY!! It is pretty cute, and I love looking in there and thinking about how it really is going to be occupied by our little twinadoes!! This was Laney's dresser and we just redid it for Sam and Miles. Laney was helping us set stuff up in their room and she quickly decided that this was her favorite toy!!!She kept climbing in and saying, "Shut the Door!!!" Whenever the door got opened, she laughed so hard and then shut the door again as quickly as she could so that the game could start over!

I hope that Laney always has this much fun in her brothers' room!
