Happy Thanksgiving!

We had such a fun Thanksgiving with our families. We certainly are aware of our many many blessings this year! It was so fun having Sam and Miles with us for all the festivities. I vividly remember telling my OB doctor (defiantly) that I was definitely going to make it to 38 weeks carrying my twins. 38 weeks was Thanksgiving Day and as you can see by the following cutie pie pictures, the boys had other plans! I am so glad that they are here and that they are so wonderfully amazing. We are so thankful for our family that we could burst!
Every year on Thanksgiving, my family does the Turkey Trot in Dallas (see here!) It is such a fun part of our Thanksgiving traditions. However, this year we didn't think that it would be great idea to introduce our 6 pound babies to 35,000 people in the middle of downtown Dallas. My whole sweet family decided to bypass the trot this year and participate in the Twin Trot instead. Jessica made t-shirts for all of us (she is beyond amazing!) and my whole family met at her house Thursday morning and then walked to our house........TWIN TROT!!!

The Twin Trot honorees looking super cute in their matching shirts! We usually have pumpkin oatmeal pancakes at our house before we race to the TRE and head to downtown Dallas to trot. This year, pancakes came after the trotting and it was nice to have more time to savor the pancakes and our morning together!

The boys loved all their family time this weekend. Lots of loving from everyone! Embarking on the Twin Trot! It was so much fun. I have the best family ever that they were willing to cater our day around the boys. It was perfect!

After we finished trotting and pancaking, we got ready for Thanksgiving with Todd's mom and sister. They also were willing to center the day around us. They came over to our house with all of their yummy food and we had such a blast with them!
Sam in his super cute Thanksgiving shirt!
Miles had one too. His was a little pumpkin.
Big sister sported her Twin Trot shirt all day and was loving every minute at the Thanksgiving table!!
I feel a little guilty about these pictures of our sweet blessings overflowing in this cornucopia. They did not love the experience!

After a fun afternoon with Grommy and Aunt Hailey (and a sweet visit from Nae Nae and Aunt Jenn) we went to my mom's house for our Pickles and Pies extravaganza! This is my family's version of a Thanksgiving Feast. My mom puts together a huge spread of all the yummiest appetizers and dessserts imaginable. This was the boys very first outing ever unless you count our three trips to the doctor for weight checks (which they are passing with flying colors!) It was fun to get in the car with all three of our carseats and head off on an adventure!

Laney and Tessa loved reading all my mom and Kevin's fun pop up books!
Sam got some kisses from Laney and Tess while lounging with Bobbis.
Like I said, lots of loving for the boys from our families!

Turkey Cookies with Grommy!

In preparation of celebrating Thanksgiving, Laney got to make some fabulously cute turkey cookies with Grommy last week. Lezlie stayed with us for most of the last two weeks and helped take care of the twinados. It was awesome having her with us. She was a huge help with the boys and I also just love being around her. I couldn't be more lucky in God blessing me with Lez for a mother in law!

Their cookies started off as round sugar cookies.
Next add some candy corn feathers......some people (almost everyone!) who saw these cookies thought that they were indians with headdresses. Those are turkey feathers people!
The feathers were Laney's favorite part. She would have been content to defeather every last cookie if I had let her!

Three Whole Weeks Old!!!!!

Here is my new all time favorite picture! Look at all my favorite people! Laney has started smiling for the camera. I don't know if it is because she is so happy to have her brothers home or if she is just grasping the concept more. I choose to go with the first theory. She really does love to have them with her. She wants to hold them all the time and is always checking on them. She couldn't be any sweeter with the boys! Two boys, one bouncy seat! Don't you love it! They sure did.

We are discovering all the ways that they boys can be occupied and entertained. I feel like our house is similar to a kindergarten classroom with stations. We move from tummy time on the floor to jiggling in the bouncy to the swing to the boppies. It is all about diversity!

(How do you like that smile on Mr. Miles! He is such smiley guy. Really is just all about letting you know his exact feelings. When he is happy, he is 100% happy and when he isn't happy, he isn't shy about making it known!)

Everyone getting to experience a little tummy time!
I love these pictures! They are so cute and content to be together on the floor!

We took Sam and Miles on their first walk in our neighborhood last week. Laney loved helping push the stroller and the boys didn't hate it too badly. They at least took turns crying in their carseats in the stroller.
I want to make sure that I document well Miles and his wild eyes!
And some of his before mentioned smiling!Sam showing off his own expressiveness in the bouncy seat!

Playing with Kennedy!

Laura and Kennedy came over to visit us this weekend. It was so great to see how much little Kennedy is growing. She is such a cutie pie and such a smiler!!! I love talking to Laura about this whole newborn thing. She seems to have such confidence and is so settled into a routine. I love thinking that just four months ago, she was right where I am in all my confused chaos. It is so great to see her being such a wonderful mommy to her little girl and know that I will be able to find my own routine with my littles too!!!

Laney is such a big girl next to her brothers and Kennedy. She was reading books to them. Kennedy couldn't take her eyes off of her.

Loving Laney!

Laney is getting to spend some fun time with her family lately while we have been otherwise occupied. Trips to the zoo with Aunt Jessica and ice cream with Aunt Caitlin have been a few of her activities. Cait took these pictures of Laney indulging in some ice cream last week while Todd and I were at the hospital for a feeding. I love them!!!!!

Here are some shots of Laney loving her time with her cousins and sweet Aunt Jess at the zoo this morning!

Then Laney got some loving from Jill and Joy-ra (Laney's code name for Jared) when they came over for a visit. It blessed my heart so much to watch Laney have the time of her life reading books with Jill. Jill did such an amazing job of making Laney feel special and like she had come over to visit for the sole purpose of playing with her. Jill helped Laney eat her lime popsicle even though it was a super messy endeavor resulting in lime popsicle juice everywhere!
And of course here are some cuties of the boys getting "real baths" since they are both sans umbilical cord!!
Miles and his tongue!Sam loving it!
Much more content to be all snuggled up!
