Lake Palestine Day One!!!!

We just got back from the most fun trip to the lake with my family. We stayed four nights at a lake house on Lake Palestine. We were looking for a vacation spot that would not mean lots of hours in the car but would still provide all the hours of fun that we had at the beach last year. This trip so far surpassed our expectations, we were all amazed! My mom and Kevin once again demonstrated their unbelievable generosity by hosting us all at the world's most beautiful lakefront renthouse. I am not kidding. We were in the lap of luxury!!!! The house itself was gorgeous with a breathtaking view from its amazing wrap around porch. On top of that, it had tons of amenities that kept us and our children completely entertained for the whole trip.

Here is a shot of our back porch.
And the side porch. Here is the view of our house from the lake.

And the view of the lake from our porch. The kids were ready to get to playing right away. We got them all life-jacketed up and headed down the pier!
Where they were provided with an opportunity to watch Todd jump on the water trampoline and do some crazy dismounts down the slide.
I love my Miles Man!!!!
Oh where is my Sam Bones???? One of the great luxuries of our trip was all the extra arms and help with our boys. Sam was still bjorning with Bobbis while we took this picture.
There's Bones!
I think that this swing was Laney's absolute favorite attraction at our attraction-packed lake house. She loved it. It was really low to the ground which made it easy for her to get on. Todd showed her how to use her feet to walk herself backwards and then swing forward. From then on, every time she got on, she would say, "My daddy showed me how to do this and go super high!"
Our backyard was also home to this fabulous hammock. I spent lots of time in the mornings out here with Miles, who decided it was necessary to wake up at a ridiculously early hour most mornings!
After dinner and bathtime, the kids went outside with flashlights for some nighttime exploration.
The flashlight soon transformed into a magic wand!
The "Goods" (this is what I have decided we should call our cousins...it is so fitting!) brought a giant bag of library books. They all gathered on the couch for some bedtime stories and Laney wasted no time planting herself right on Aunt Jessa's lap!
I got to sneak in for some reading snuggles too!
And the perfect ending to the perfect first day of our family vacation. Hot cookies right out of the oven!!!
