Back to School!!!

Laney has one more year at our church's preschool. We have been talking about her new Care Bears class for a few weeks now. She was relatively excited about going back to school. Especially when I told her that she didn't have to take a nap. That was a big source of stress for her last year!
So, we got all set for her first day back to school! This backpack is making it's third appearance in first day of school pics. She has grown into it over the years!

I took this same picture last year with a little nostalgia thinking that it would be our last first day of school picture in front of our garden at our Arlington house. Things have changed a lot since this time last year!

Maddy is in Laney's class again this year and her brother Max is at Fielder too. Their big sister goes to the school that is right by our house, so we invited them over after they dropped off Abby to have a Back to School Breakfast with us! They are some of the sweetest kids around and I knew that they would help Laney have a fun morning without a lot of nervousness!

They each took about two bites of food and then started playing an elaborate game of chase all over the house.

They had so much fun. We are so lucky to have friends like the Paredes family!!!

Once we got right down to the business of walking into her classroom, Laney got some of her anxiety back.

She cried for just a minute, but quickly found some friends to play with! She came home happy with stories of all the fun that they had. I can't wait for a great year!
