A Surprise Visit from Doc!!!

We got a surprise visit from my dad last night. I was making dinner and getting ready to head to small group when my dad called and said that he was just down the road. We haven't gotten to see him since Christmas, so we were all excited at the opportunity to spend the evening with him. So I switched gears, called our small group to say we weren't coming and called my sisters to tell them to come over for dinner.
It was great to see Doc! We got some pictures of him with his six grandkids!
Once we said goodbye to our family, Laney practiced her photography skills by taking some pictures of me and the brothers.

Jammy Time! The brothers love to wear their shirts as silly hats whenever they are changing into the p.j.s at night.

Laney swiped Sam's shirt to make a crazy hat of her own to go with these crazy eyes!

So Fabulous!!!

I finally got the first installment of my Blog turned Real Live Book!!!! I used www.blurb.com and formatted my blog into books for the years 2006, 2007 and 2008. That is as far as I have gotten so far, but we had not ordered any of them yet. Todd gave me the 2007 book for my birthday! So, we ordered it a couple of weeks ago, and it just arrived!!!! It is so cool.

A Family Dinner!

We had an impromptu family dinner with my mom and the Goods last weekend. My mom brought over some hot dogs for grilling and we had such a fun night together.
My mom has lots of pictures with Sam, who loves to ham it up for the camera, but she doesn't have lots with Miles, so we tried to catch a few of them together!Sam jumped in to tickle Bobbis's toes.

Then Bobbis stopped to read Dinosaur Roar, the brothers' absolute favotrite book! They say "di-show" over and over.
Cute boy in his favorite new hat!
Sam is so silly when the camera is on him!

These two cousins make my heart happy!

Miracle League!

Our small group has the opportunity to buddy with a special needs baseball team through the Miracle League at the YMCA. We get to partner with them on the field, run the bases with them and cheer for them in the stands. It is pretty incredible! We are all really excited about joining with our children in support of these outstanding kiddos!!
Heading out to the baseball field with all our ball caps on!

We had some really cute cheerleaders!

Here's a shot of most of our group!

"Q"-t pie friends!

David and Laura were in town last weekend for a few weddings, so we got to spend some time with the Q girls on Friday! It was so fun. Kennedy continues to amaze with her language skills and both girls are getting cuter by the second!
Laney loves to see "Kenneny" They play really sweetly together, which Laura and I love!

Their hugs turned into a tackle, but everyone was still all smiles!
After this, Laney asked Kennedy to "tackle her," and Kennedy came at her with little pinchers. She thought Laney wanted her to tickle her!
They shared the grocery cart for lots more fun.

All while this little Miss Atalie tried to smile as big as a baby possibly can!!!

Tractor!!

Miles's love for "tractors" hasn't diminished since our trip to visit Jared and Jill. Todd is doing some work at our house that has required multiple trips to Loews in the past several weeks. Every time that we are there, all three kids go crazy for the riding lawnmowers. We spend most of our time on them while Todd is picking up all of his necessities.

4 Wheelers and Frogs!

As soon as we arrived at Pops and Nae Nae's, they brought these super cute toddler Texas Ranger baseball hats out. They could not be one bit more adorable. The brothers love them!
Then we got right down to the business of playing. There is much to do in Pops and Nae Nae's neck of the woods. We drove out to the ranch where Grandaddy and all the cows live. We rode the gator all over the ranch checking out the horse, the turtle pond and all the cows close up. This little pond had about a million frogs all along it's perimeter. We could see all their little eyes peeking up at us, so we had to go down and explore. Pops and Sam went down first to scout it out.

Miles could have ridden the four wheeler with Pops all day. He loved it and he loved it really fast!

Sam took a little more time warming up to the idea of it, but Pops was able to convince him and they took off for the fences too!

These boys are so lucky to have such a cool place to visit that is just full to the brim with adventures to be had!

Fishing in Cona!

We went to see Pops and Nae Nae on Labor Day weekend. We had so much fun. I am so grateful that my kids have somewhere to visit like Pops and Nae Nae's house. There is so much there for them to explore and so many experiences that they are afforded that I don't think many kids have any more.

Like, for example, heading out to the fishing hole for a little catch and release! Pops took Laney out here when she was just about the boys age, and we had just as much fun this go round. The brothers were collecting rocks....for no reason really.

Sam sat with Todd holding the fishing pole.

Laney was happy to name each fish and then wave goodbye to them as they went back to their families.

Super Aunt Hailey!!

Hailey came over and stayed with the kids this weekend so that Todd and I could go on a date!! It was a fun night. We exchanged some shoes, had a nice dinner and went grocery shopping! A perfect combination of practical and fun!
Once Hailey got there, Laney got out her capes, masks and crown, so that they could be super heroes together. Then there was some chase playing!

Aunt Hailey is such a great sport!
