Camping Trip

Todd took Laney camping last week. She was pretty nervous about it beforehand. We talked it way up and even watched an episode of the Fresh Beat Band, her new favorite show, during which the Fresh Beats went camping. Try as we might, we could not get her fired up about her trip. This was the two of them before they set out. As in almost all areas of life, Laney warmed right up to the idea of camping with Daddy once they got there and all the fun started!
The flashlight itself might have been enough to get her juices going. She loved it.
Hot dog grilling time.

These pictures just about do me in they are so sweet. Every time I look at them my heart clenches up. I love how much Todd loves his little girl!

Todd picked a campsite right next to the huge playground, which earned him high marks with Laney.

Sidewalk chalk helped them leave their mark!
The state park that they camped at had an old historical farmhouse for visiting. That is right up Todd's alley. He loves stuff like that. We can't drive past a historical marker sign without stopping to read it. Laney took it very seriously!
Lastly they took a little nature walk through the woods!

Such a sweet Daddy/Daughter weekend!

Bobbis's Second Favorite Month!

My mom recently told me that she really loves October. She holds it second only to April, the other month in the year that ushers in a new season and holds some relatively cool but not too cold or too hot weather. In Texas, you never really know, but if you were looking for the perfect outdoor activity weather, October is a good bet! We took advantage of the great weather last weekend with picnic at one of our favorite tucked away little parks. Our picnic involved the Goods and Bobbis, so it was pretty much awesome!

Grant could not be any more amazing with Sam and Miles. He genuinely loves spending time with them and is really kind and concientious about things that they like to do....like playing chase! Claire is an equally sweet cousin to the brothers. Her love for carrying them around has not dwindled even a little bit!

Todd brought the spotting scope that Laney so enthusiastically got me for my birthday last year. We took it to the Ranger game last weekend for it's very first use ever and I guess Todd got fired up about spotting things.

At the park with her cousins. A happy girl!

Laney and Tessa found their cooking station and started making milkshakes, chicken nuggets and pizza for everyone!

Make New Friends!!!!

We have been spending our Monday afternoons with some new friends! Megan and Ashlea. These are two super sweet girls that Laney will start kindergarten with next fall if she goes to Wood. We go to church with Ashlea's family, and I basically attacked her mom, Alyson, one Sunday morning in an attempt to get our girls together. Luckily, Alyson was totally on board and allowed me to bust into her well established relationship with the Hurtado family. Now we are off and running in a fabulous relationship between our girls and us too!!! Megan's little brother, Maddox, is almost exactly the same age as the boys too!! It is so perfect!

Laney was trying to reach the leaves on the tree so that she could include them in the ingredients making up the imaginary cake that she was making. She wasn't tall enough, so Ashlea came to her rescue and all three girls got to work making what was, I am sure, a delicious leaf-cake! We wanted a picture of the girls (and Maddox,) but Ashlea was our only smiler at first.
So, we offered mini ice cream sandwiches in exchange for smiles, resulting in the following adorable pictures!

Photographic evidence of the bribery that took place!

Pressure Sprayer!

We got to spend the afternoon with Tyce and Haven a few weeks ago while their parents were in a meeting. Tyce was pretty pumped about helping Todd outside with the pressure sprayer.
The brothers were looking on in wonder probably laying out their plans to swipe that water gun from Tyce.

Haven took a turn.
And finally, the brothers got their hands on it!!!

Tea parties have made a strong appearance at our house lately. Tyce and Haven were happy to move inside after pressure spraying for a more refined experience of "tea and cookies.

Family Reunion!!

We had a little time to play at Pops and Nae Nae's house before the Reunion started on Saturday! Sam was delighted! Todd's cousin has a little boy almost the same age as the brothers and they made a pretty cute trio right after we got to the Family Life Center for the Reunion.
Laney is always most comfortable in someone's lap or arms at a function such as this when she is surrounded by so many people.
Sam and Uncle Colt were pretty chummy!
One of Todd's third cousins has a 6 month old and we brought some toys to pass down to him. Miles was reminded of how much fun this zebra was at our house!

Our second cousin, Landry, helped Miles get a drink.
The Reunion always provides opportunities to play with all the balls.

Todd and his sweet sisters!Miles followed sister's lead with the basketballs and volleyballs.

It was a super fun day with our family!
