We're Going on A Trip!!!!

We got to go on a vacation with our amazing friends, the Paredes family, a few weeks ago.  We have been planning it for a while and were so excited for the day to finally come.  We went to resort near Tyler right on Lake Palestine that Virginia has access to because her brother is in the military.  We stayed for a whole week and got an amazing deal on our incredible condos!  It was such a blast.  Everything that you would hope a vacation could be for your family.  We are so blessed to get to have friends like Jason and Virginia.  We love them and their children so much and our kids are all crazy about each other!  What more could you ask for  (besides another week!!!!)
In preparation for our road trip, I made these crayon rolls for all the kids to have in the car.  Laura, who turned me on to sewing to begin with, sent me a tutorial.  They were so easy and turned out so cute!
These were for the girls!

And these were for the boys!

We drove in on Sunday night right before Game 6 of the NBA Finals.  We were getting a little nervous on our drive that we were going to miss the game, but we got checked in, while watching the first quarter on the TV behind the reception desk and made it to our condos for the rest of the game.  Todd and the brothers had a whole routine going.  Some certain number of claps for defense, another for offense, 2 times around the couch for free throws.....all very reasonable and relevant to the outcome of the game.  It was so so exciting to get to see our Mavs pull through and win the Championship!!! The perfect way to start our super fun vacation!
The next morning we drove the 20 minutes into Tyler to stock up on groceries.  We had breakfast at McDonalds and the kids had fun playing on the playground!

On to Wal Mart, where they thankfully had "cool carts."   Laney and Maddy had so much fun together while were shopping.  It was indicative of the fun that was to come!!!!
 The boy cart!
