A couple of weeks ago, Grommy mentioned that she would like to take Laney to the American Girl Store in Dallas. It worked out that we got to go on the weekend before her birthday, so it was a total birthday celebration! We had such a blast! Laney was so excited and so cute the whole time!! I had so much fun too! Since it was her birthday weekend, Laney got to wear the birthday outfit that I made for her and I made a matching one for her doll, ClaireTessa (that's her doll's name, obviously given to her by Laney)
We buckled up in Grommy's car and headed over to pick up Aunt Hailey!
It was a Lewis Girls Day!!!
Walking up to the store!
Laney loved checking everything out. There is so so much and it is all so ridiculously cute!
Of course Laney found strollers right away!
We found the doll that matched ClaireTessa.
This year's Doll of the Year is McKenna, the gymnast. I was so excited to get some of her gymnastics accessories for ClaireTessa, but almost everything was on back order until something crazy like September!
We went upstairs to have lunch in the bistro! It was the cutest thing ever! ClaireTessa had her own little seat at our table with her own plate and cup. Everything was so fun and frilly and really delicious!A Strawberry Birthday Sundae!! Laney did great while the waitresses sang Happy Birthday to her. Just last year, she was still completely uncomfortable with being sung to and getting all that attention on her birthday! It brought tears to my eyes to see her growing up and growing less and less anxious!
After our adorable lunch, we went back down to the store so that Laney could make her final selections! She is a lucky girl. She got to pick something out from each of us for her birthday gifts. She had so much fun deciding what she wanted.
Our sweet Grommy who made the whole day possible! Laney is so blessed to have this amazing woman in her life as one of her role models!
Silly girl "walking" back to the car with ClaireTessa!
