New York!

My cousin got married last month in New York.  He is a recent graduate of West Point and now serves as a Lieutenant in the Army!  He is a pretty remarkable guy and I am very proud that he is my cousin!  Last summer, when we were in Colorado for my grandmother's funeral, we got to spend time with all our cousins and it was so great to see them.  Right after that, Roy got engaged, and we were pumped to get another chance to get to see everyone.  They got married at West Point (wow), so Jess and Cait weren't able to come.  We wiped out our frequent flier miles and then were very very blessed by my generous mom and Kevin while in NY.  It was so much fun!
We flew into the city on Saturday morning and then drove upstate to meet up with our family.  The wedding was on Sunday, so Saturday night we all just got to hang out!  We started out with our family at a Mexican food resaurant.
I made this picture my facebook profile and people can't stop commenting about Todd's short hair.  He's a handsome guy, long hair or short!
Some of my sweet/hilarious family!

Roy and his sweet bride!  They met in ninth grade ( I think.)  My cousin knit her a scarf in which he knit the words, "will you go out with me?"  She said no!  They started dating after college and after a short while, he commissioned someone to knit her a scarf asking him to marry him!  She said yes!!  How cute is that?
Beth and Kat.  These girls are super silly!
Roy and his dad, my crazy crazy uncle.  If you ever watch the Army/ Navy football game on TV, you will see lots of footage of my uncle going bananas leading the cadets in all kinds of madness!!

There was a mariachi band looking for tips entertaining us for what turned into about an hour!  I am not exaggerating.  My Aunt Beth and Aunt Pat were part of the party at first, and then everyone was!

 Like I said..........

My mom looks so pretty in these pictures!  It's probably cause she had to wear all my clothes and make up because the airline lost her luggage!
After the Ragsdale's musical debut, we went to a party for Roy and Kayla hosted by some of Kayla's family friends.  They were very very Irish and this was the basement of their beautiful house.  It was completely decked out like an Irish pub.

There was an Irish folk band and tons of friends and family all dancing dancing dancing.

Kat and Beth with their brother creeping up!
All three Jamvolds!!  Eric with his sisters!
My Aunt Beth and Uncle Jimmy.  They were so cute dancing together!!
I have to document all these skeptical faces directed at whatever Uncle Dan is trying to convince us of!
There's that cute mom of mine dancing it up with the groom!

I should be too embarrassed to post these, but oh well! These are the least embarrassing ones!  My cousins were very very intent on getting us out there to dance.  They probably regretted it once they saw what a dweeb I am on the dance floor, but we definitely had lots of laughs!

Girl Scouts at the Fire Station!!

Our last meeting of the school, we took our Daisies to the fire station near our school.  They were, of course, super cute!

I got to put all the gear on to show the girls and they thought it was hilarious!

This mask is a little freaky!  You have to suck a breath in before it releases any oxygen, so it feels a little claustrophobic! One more reason I am impressed by firefighters!

 Me and our girls!
They all got to walk through the truck to check it out!
These firemen were so so sweet to us!  They were so patient with the girls questions and seemed so geniunely pleased to have us there!! What great examples of service they were for our troop!!

Field Day!!!

Laney's Field Day was sometime during the last week of school.  She was really looking forward to it and we talked alot about it, but I wasn't actually that concerned about how she would do.  She has had such a great year and exhibited so few of the anxieties that she used to that I just thought Field Day would be a fun easy day.
It started off that way.  Her class was at the soccer kick station first.  She waited in line and went right up to kick once it was her turn.  That was it though.  After that, she wouldn't do anything.  I am not sure what triggered it, but she just shut down after this.  There were a lot of parents there and that is what used to make it so hard for her at preschool parties, so that might have been it, but I don't know.  She just would not do anything but stand right next to my side on the brink of tears if I tried to make her participate!
She was totally okay with taking pictures with her sweet friends.

Not sure what happened on this day that made it so hard for her.  It was a little heartbreaking, but we have made such strides and are not going to dwell on this anymore than to just reassure her and try to talk through it for future similar situations!!

Gymnastics Meet!

Laney had her second meet as a Gym Bug the last week in Apil.  She did great and was even more comfortable than she was at her first one!  Gymnastics has been such an incredible tool for building her self confidence and cutting down her anxiety!
She started off on the bars, which remain her very favorite!

I didn't get any good pictures of the vault or beam, but these are from her floor routine!  She did it perfectly and got a blue ribbon!  Landing her split jump!

 Backwards roll!
 Round-off!
At her first meet, lots of girls got flowers.  Laney must have asked me ten times if I thought that anyone was going to bring flowers for her to this meet.  Todd came through and she was thrilled!
She got a trophy and is so so proud!
The Gromsters came to show her unending support for the Bug.
 Bobbis was there too!!
We LOVE Coach Marcia!!!!  She is so very good at what she does!
